Krav Maga Classes Boston

Krav Maga Yashir Boston is a dedicated Krav Maga training-facility. We don’t teach Krav Maga as a “program” that is offered alongside other martial arts such as Muay Thai and BJJ etc. Krav Maga is a complete system that doesn’t need to be complemented with others e.g., Krav Maga has a full and comprehensive ground-survival and ground-fighting program, designed not for sport or competition but for surviving and dealing with real-life violent incidents that may end up on the ground – this may involve multiple attackers, weapons, defenses against standing aggressors etc. Due to the contextual nature of real-life violence, trying to take combat sports that were designed for the ring/cage and apply them to real-life violence is not a particularly effective approach. Krav Maga is designed to work and be effective in real-life violent scenarios, and that is what we train for.

We offer a full self-defense/fighting program that teaches individuals how to strike/punch/kick, throw/grapple/wrestle, whether standing, seated or on the ground etc. We also introduce defenses to weapon threats and attacks at the earliest level, choosing not to see these as “advanced” solutions/techniques. The essence of Krav Maga is the simplicity of its solutions and so to categorize weapon defenses as being something that only higher-level students engage in makes little/no sense from a practical perspective. Our comprehensive Krav Maga syllabus is designed to get a student “combat ready” in the shortest possible time, with a constant repetition of the core techniques and solutions that deal with the most common types of attacks and assaults. As students progress and develop fighting skills and attributes, the syllabus expands to deal with less-likely but more complex scenarios etc. Progression through the syllabus in managed and marked through the use of belts, as is the case in Israel.

In these public/group Krav Maga classes all-levels train together, with one class per week, for students who are yellow belt and above (a process that usually takes around 6-months to complete). This means that newer students benefit from the experience of those who have been training for a longer time etc. Our classes are broken down into 30-minute segments, allowing for students to “build” their training sessions based on their schedules e.g., a person may engage in 60 minutes of training, either starting at 6pm or 6:30pm etc. The class schedule is presented below. For anyone wanting to train at the school they must first take one of our Beginner Krav Maga Classes (to see dates and to register please click here)
